“Our 8 1/2 year old son is really enjoying this journal after about amonth of use. We were looking for something to help him with his comprehensionand reinforce his joy of reading. This fun journal is just the thing. The bookis spiral bound so little hands can easily access their work. Each page has aperforated corner to remove as the book worm eats his way through the journal. As your child completes a page in the journal (either a book or a chapter), hecan remove the page corner. These eaten corners are also a handy bookmark tofind their "spot” in the journal. The pages are lined with large spacing soyoung readers can easily write their thoughts neatly." Cynthia

“…My oldest is currently at the end of first grade and we've juststarted recording the books she's reading. For each book you've read (and youcan document whether it was read to your child, read together, or read by yourchild alone) you will record the title, author, the # of stars (from 1–5) asdetermined by the parent and child separately, and then there's blank lines foryour child to record their thoughts. Each book goes on a separate page in thejournal. Then, on the back of that page are activities for your child. She canwrite the new vocabulary words, insert herself into the story, tell what shelikes to eat while reading, etc. I think this is a really fun journal whichoffers many tools: keeping an organized lists of books read to date, having yourchild document her experiences with the book, and also having your childcomplete an activity in relationship to the book. I'm excited to start on thisjourney with her, and will purchase additional copies for my younger daughterwho start kindergarten in the fall. We will begin by recording what booksI read to her during the school year, and will end the school year by recordingthe books we read together as well as the books she's reading to me. I can'twait!” Monique

“My 4 and 6 year old feel so proud when they finish a book and get torecord it in their Bookworm Journal. They especially love peeling the perforatedcorner off when they are done because they like thinking that the bookworm iseating its way through the journal. There is also a spot for parental ratings soyou can get involved rating the books with the kids.” -Plus2 Plus2
