To kick off the breeding season, male Tūī perch in circles to out-sing eachother in ‘song battles’ – and with two voice boxes each we’re talkingthe NZSO of birdsong, here – while females sit on the outside waiting to beimpressed. They also perform ‘the trill’, a special high-frequency sexy songwhich the females apparently find a complete turn-on. Want a symbol of love foryour garden? Our birds are designed with 3mm CorTen steel to form a protective patina thatdeepens and strengthens with the seasons. This patina will deepen in shade overthe years until it reaches a deep brown/charcoal black hue.

This self-sealing aspect of CorTen steel provides a quality guarantee of upto 100 years, ensuring that our product lasts a lifetime and remains completelycorrosion resistent.

What might initially resemble generic rust is simply the air and water-tightpatina forming over a six month period, so don’t panic! Your Metalbird isdoing exactly what it’s been designed to do, and this patina will protect thesteel from any further damage and disintegration.

CorTen steel does not require any treatments, oils or chemical additives andis therefore extremely environmentally friendly.

Delivery Times

Due to the high level of demand we kindly ask that customers be patient with us and to expect that orders will take longer than usual to be dispatched during Level 3. 

Due to the significant increase in the number of parcels being sent around New Zealand at present and additional safety procedures in place for COVID-19, NZ Post is experiencing some delivery delays. Please allow an additional 5 working days after dispatch for delivery of your order.

We encourage you to track your delivery progress using NZ Post's Tracking tool and contact us if your delivery is overdue by more than these 5 working days after dispatch.

Heavy and Bulky Goods

Please allow an extra 1-3 days for heavy and bulky goods like chairs and desks.

New Zealand Delivery Rates

We charge a flat rate of $4.90 NZD per shipment, not including heavy and bulky goods. 

Please note we have a $50-$60 rate for shipping heavy and bulky goods like chairs and desks which will be calculated at checkout. 

Most orders are shipped using New Zealand Post and these parcels are shipped with no-signature required. For our heavy and bulky goods, these are shipped via Mainfreight with signature required.
