They also use itto make burrows – they fly straight at a decaying trunk and ram it tillthere’s a hole big enough to perch in and scoop out. Our birds are designed with 3mm CorTen steel to form a protective patina thatdeepens and strengthens with the seasons. This patina will deepen in shade overthe years until it reaches a deep brown/charcoal black hue.

This self-sealing aspect of CorTen steel provides a quality guarantee of upto 100 years, ensuring that our product lasts a lifetime and remains completelycorrosion resistent.

What might initially resemble generic rust is simply the air and water-tightpatina forming over a six month period, so don’t panic! Your Metalbird isdoing exactly what it’s been designed to do, and this patina will protect thesteel from any further damage and disintegration.

CorTen steel does not require any treatments, oils or chemical additives andis therefore extremely environmentally friendly.

To ensure every customer pays a fair price for delivery, an exact shipping price will be displayed to you in the checkout based on the size and weight of the products in your order and your delivery address.

Please note we have a $68-$98 rate for shipping heavy and bulky goods like chairs and desks which will be calculated at checkout.  

Most orders are shipped using New Zealand Post and these parcels are shipped with no-signature required. For our heavy and bulky goods, these are shipped via Mainfreight with signature required.
