There is something magical about watching a sunflower grow. The seeds are bigand easy for tiny fingers to handle. They grow fast and in 60 days you will beenjoying their bright and cheerful flowers.

How To Grow

PREPARE

  • To provide some drainage, place pebbles into the bottom of the tin beforecovering with soil. * Put the Jiffy® soil pellets into a large bowl and addabout 600ml of lukewarm water.
  • After 10 minutes you will have enough soil to fill yourwindowsill tin.
  • Loosen the soil with a table fork and put your new soil into the pot. Leaveabout 10% of the soil in the bowl to use later.

SOW

  • Make a small hole with the end of your finger in the soil for eachthe seeds.
  • Cover with 10mm of the soil you have left in the bowl and firm gently.
  • Water lightly and place in a warm well lit spot in your home.
  • Water regularly just enough to keep moist.
  • First shoots will appear in 10–14 days.
  • When the young plants are approximately 5cm tall, thin to leave only the3 strongest plants. * This allows the sunflowers to have plenty of space todevelop.

CARE

  • Feed with half strength liquid fertiliser every 21–28 days to promotehealthy growth.
  • Sunflowers are one of the quickest varieties to flower; you will have bloomsin 8–10 weeks.

Delivery Times

Due to the high level of demand we kindly ask that customers be patient with us and to expect that orders will take longer than usual to be dispatched during Level 3. 

Due to the significant increase in the number of parcels being sent around New Zealand at present and additional safety procedures in place for COVID-19, NZ Post is experiencing some delivery delays. Please allow an additional 5 working days after dispatch for delivery of your order.

Please allow an extra 1-3 days for heavy and bulky goods like chairs and desks.

New Zealand Delivery Rates

We charge a flat rate of $4.90 NZD per shipment, not including heavy and bulky goods. 

Please note we have a $50-$60 rate for shipping heavy and bulky goods like chairs and desks which will be calculated at checkout. 

Most orders are shipped using New Zealand Post and these parcels are shipped with no-signature required. For our heavy and bulky goods, these are shipped via Mainfreight with signature required.
